The Funniest Night Out in New Zealand!
Len The Loser is breaking out next month on a nationwide concert tour in conjunction with the Life Education Trust. Tax Day (March 31) in Auckland at Sky City Theatre, April Fools Day in Christchurch at the James Hay Theatre, then on to Wellington, Tauranga, Waitomo and Hamilton… and the advice from some of New Zealand's best known people is to get along for a laugh.
"New Zealand needs to laugh - and Len The Loser is just the medicine," says Dame Susan Devoy.
Sir Richard Hadlee, Hon Sir Roger Douglas, Tim Shadbolt, Mark Hadlow and Michael Hill agree - Len The Loser is New Zealand's New Funny Man.
"At the end of the day, nothing is more exciting, intense, challenging, outrageous and entertaining as good old Kiwi humour. You will love Len The Loser," says Tim Shadbolt, Invercargill Mayor and comedian.
Fellow comedian and actor Mark Hadlow has this to say:
"Len The Loser doesn't make you laugh - he makes you cry! The soul of New Zealand's anti tall-poppy syndrome lives on with Len. It's brilliant, clever, witty and wonderful. It makes you laugh till you weep."
Len the Loser (if at first you don't succeed - give up…!) is the alter-ego of Kevin Lynch, an Arrowtown based entertainer who occupies a market niche in corporate entertainment. Last year, Kevin's "Len" entertained more than 10,000 people as he travelled all over New Zealand and often offshore making conference - goers laugh, and laugh and laugh……
Now, Kevin's introducing Len to the wider public of New Zealand. Len The Loser will muddle aimlessly through the middle of the crowd to find the stage, then take to it dressed in red band gumboots, a bush shirt and his father-in-law's ripped serge trousers. Len the Loser's unique and understated style is best described as a comedy and music mix where Victor Borge rubs shoulders with Fred Dagg and Eric Clapton. As he potters from one end of the country to the other Len will also raise funds and awareness for the Life Education Trust - a privately funded organisation that reaches out to more than 250,000 New Zealand kids each year teaching self respect through self appreciation, and respect for others.
Kevin Lynch is not simply a comedian. His musical pedigree can be traced back to the 1970's when he played with top Dunedin bands and, as a guitarist backed some big name acts. He is renowned for surprising his audience with a superb voice and consummate guitar playing. Between Len The Loser performances, Kevin coordinates 'History Alive!' a successful events production company in Arrowtown. He is also the composer of the acclaimed New Zealand stage musical 'Rush! A segment from 'Rush! will feature in his show. Many Kiwis may well remember him from his seven year stint as the resident entertainer at the Skyline Gondola restaurant in Queenstown.
Len The Loser's official coming out was at Sir Michael Fay's 50th birthday bash, and since then the Len the Loser character has been honed into a guaranteed crowd pleaser.
They said it:
"I love humour. I am sure we all want to have and enjoy a good laugh. It is very refreshing to be entertained by a genuine New Zealander who has a wonderful act." Sir Richard Hadlee
"Len the Loser doesn't simply make you laugh, he teaches you any number of important life skills. Relax and enjoy." Hon Sir Roger Douglas
"At the end of the day, nothing is more exciting, intense, challenging, outrageous and entertaining as good old Kiwi humour. You will love Len The Loser." Tim Shadbolt
"Len The Loser doesn't make you laugh - he makes you cry! The soul of New Zealand's anti tall-poppy syndrome lives on with Len. It's brilliant, clever, witty and wonderful. It makes you laugh till you weep." Mark Hadlow

"I have had the privilege of seeing Len perform on several occasions and he has completely blown the audience away - they love him. He's real. He's the best guitarist I've heard and funny as! The man's got it - in every way a top entertainer." Billy Graham - International Speaker
