HH.Rael Appalled By The Threat Of Removing Cloned Child From Mother
HH.RAEL, spiritual leader of the Raelian Movement, is appalled by the complaint of Bernard Seigel, a Florida lawyer who wishes that the baby cloned by Brigitte Boisselier's cloning company be taken away from her parents on the account that she is, according to the complaint, "exploited, subject to poor treatment, and could suffer from genetic complications."
HH.RAEL declares: "This lawyer is neither a good lawyer nor a scientist and only tries to get a certain media notoriety by going forward with this complaint. He claims that the baby is being exploited when in fact, she is protected and never shown publicly. If the baby was shown to every television media, then he could pretend that she is being exploited but because the parents choose secrecy, it proves the contrary. This lawyer goes on to pretend that the baby receives "poor treatments..." To pretend such things when he nor anyone else that he knows have ever seen the baby anywhere is simply absurd.
These accusations with no shred of evidence are similar to slanders. Lastly, he pretends that this child could suffer from severe genetic complications when the fact is that no one can prove this at this time. And even if this were the case, then we should take all children who suffer from severe genetic complications away from their parents. This would represent a totally inhumane tragedy for parents who raise handicapped children with love.
Is the right of handicapped children to live with their families challenged by this lawyer who seems to have a terrible lack of compassion for handicapped children and their families? A handicapped child, even from cloning, has the sacred right to live with his family. I call upon all the Associations for Handicapped Children to protest against such an idea which is an insult to their human dignity.
The fact that this complaint was filed in Florida could suggest that Georges Bush, who is against cloning, could have his brother and Florida State Governor involved so that "something" be done against Dr. Boisselier whose success is disturbing to the American conservative authorities."
