Come walking with dinosaurs at Auckland Museum
Go prehistoric at Auckland Museum next Sunday (15 December) when the house on the hill comes alive with all things Jurassic.
The last in the series of this year’s Living Treasures Days, “Dinosaur Day” will find the Museum brimming with all manner of ancient beasts, from T-Rexes to Wannanosauruses, Velociraptors to Wetasauruses.
A day especially fashioned for families, Dinosaur Day offers kids of all ages the opportunity to learn about the lost world of these amazing creatures. Children can have a go at all manner of activities, from dinosaur origami to dinosaur trails, fossil-making to body painting.
For parents, there’ll be screenings of the BBC’s landmark documentary series, Walking with Dinosaurs, as well as a talk by the author of Yes we had dinosaurs!, a book which investigates New Zealand’s very own prehistoric origins.
Fossil-rubbing and dinosaur badge-making all day; roving costumed characters, websites, illustrated talks and dinosaur story-telling in the Discovery Centres.
Feel free to come dressed as Godzilla.
Admission by usual donation, children are free.
