Prime Minister Opens New Zealand Pavilion In America’s Cup Village
Celebrating New Zealand Innovation - Past, Present and Future
Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Helen Clark officially launched the Carter Holt Harvey New Zealand Pavilion tonight. Industry New Zealand in partnership with naming rights sponsor Carter Holt Harvey, has constructed the New Zealand Pavilion, which will be a celebration of New Zealand’s innovation leaders past, present and future. It will bring to the fore the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit that drives success in New Zealand.
The Pavilion is open free to the public seven days a week from Saturday 30 November until the conclusion of the America’s Cup races in March 2003. It is located on the corner of Halsey Street and Viaduct Harbour Street in Auckland.
Attending the opening, Minister for Economic, Industry and Regional Development Hon Jim Anderton said the Pavilion is an excellent way to share leading New Zealander’s ideas with each other, and the world. “The Pavilion can inspire New Zealanders’ to turn their own ideas into business ideas.”
"The Pavilion has been made possible by a partnership with businesses who recognise the value of innovation to New Zealand's economy," he said. Sponsors are Carter Holt Harvey, Oktobor, Saatchi & Saatchi, Samsung and principal technology provider Tech-Rentals.
