Quote From Francesco De Angelis
Francesco de Angelis, skipper of Luna Rossa, said today at the end of the match won over Victory Challenge: "Today's match was very close. Right after the start we decided to go left because we thought it was the favourite side. The Swedes instead caught the first wind shift on the right and took an immediate advantage over us. With a series of tacks and also thanks to a small mistake on the part of our competitors we got closer and succeeded in rounding the first mark ahead of them. From then on we maintained the lead but the final result of the race was uncertain until the end. In light wind conditions such as those of today, even a small error can compromise the final result. This is why today we always tried not to have too much separation between the boats. In today's light wind and moderate chop we had positive indications from the modified Luna Rossa ITA 74. The boat also maneuvers very well. ITA 74 surely has a margin for improvement and we hope to be able to test it now in a stronger breeze.
