Get into the Celtic Groove in Cathedral Square
FREE Friday Lunchtime Concert, Cathedral Square, Friday 22 November 2002, 12.15pm to 1.15pm
Andy and Cate Gear formed Celtic Groove in 1995, and they have performed extensively in Christchurch and throughout the South Island since then, establishing a reputation as energetic performers of Irish rock music. Celtic Groove will play this Friday in Cathedral Square as part of the Christchurch City Council Leisure Free Friday Lunchtime Concert Series.
Andy Gear appears on guitar and vocals. He has been performing and teaching for 13 years and is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist and vocalist.
Cate Gear features on vocals and fiddle. With a lifelong involvement in Celtic music, Cate has been acclaimed as one of the best fiddle players in New Zealand.
Cletic Groove will present renditions of popular Irish rock songs from the like of The Pogues, and The Dubliners, with the addition of numbers by Van Morrison and Tom Petty.
