Tua Continues His Path To A World Heavyweight Title On Sky Tv
Thunderbox presents more world-class heavy weight boxing in ‘Fist Full Of Dollars’, five massive fights including David Tua’s wrangle with Kentucky heavy weight Russell Chasteen - Sunday, December 1 from 3pm exclusively live on Sky Box Office (Channel 60).
Tua returns to the scene of his last victory, The Trump Taj Mahal, Atlantic City for a ten round bout against Chasteen who recently claimed the WBF Continental America’s Heavyweight Title.
If Tua wins this fight his next opponent will be Hasim Rahman and a victory over him would make him the primary contender for a shot at the world Heavyweight title.
It was always manager/trainer Kevin Barry’s plan for David to fight again this year and keep the momentum going after back-to-back knockout wins over Fres Oquendo and former World Champion Michael Moorer.
Barry also believed it was important to have Tua back in the United States working the media while negotiating the fight against Rahman at the beginning of 2003.
Boasting a record of 19 wins, 13 by-way of knockout and just 5 losses, Chasteen is by no means an easy beat and Tua will need to beat him convincingly to maintain his confidence for next year.
Thunderbox also features the ‘Fistful of Dollars’ round-robin event with 8 Heavyweights doing battle in three, three-minute rounds for a purse of $100,000 – four winners progress through to the semi-final stage.
This week’s match-card features; Derrick Jefferson (26-3, 20KO’s), Maurice Harris (19-12-2, 10 KO’s), Tim Witherspoon (55-12-1, 38 KO’s), Gerald Nobles (20-0, 16 KO’s), Paolo Vidoz (11-1,7 KO’s), Ray Austin (17-3-1, 13 KO’s), Anthony Thompson (17-1, 9 KO’s) and Jeremy Williams (34-4, 35 KO’s).
Thunderbox’s ‘Fistful of Dollars’ is a completely unique fighting experience culminating breathtaking lighting and music with world-class boxing.
Hosted by Sky Sports presenter Stephen McIvor and Sky boxing expert Paul McSharry, Thunderbox is boxing like you've never seen it before – see it Sunday, December 1 from 3pm exclusively live on Sky Box Office (Channel 60).
