Rotorua International Rally Date Announced
In announcing the date of the 2003 International Rally of Rotorua, Chairman, Mr Laurie Brenssell said “ The world governing body for motorsport the FIA, have
now confirmed the Asia Pacific Rally Championship calendar for the 2003
season. The International Rally of Rotorua will be staged from July 11th to 13th,
and this now gives us the confidence to pursue a new naming rights sponsor for
our highly successful event .”
The International Rally of Rotorua recently announced that sponsor of five years,
Parker Enzed, had chosen to move into a new area of motorsport, having
declared their total satisfaction with the Rotorua event and the benefits gained
from its long and successful association.
Brenssell said “ We were very fortunate to have retained the same sponsor for
five years, and it is testimony to their confidence in the event right from its
establishment in 1998, that they continued to support it.’”
Brenssell also said “2003 will see the event continue as part of the prestigious
Asia Pacific Rally Championship for the third year, the championship is held in 7
different countries and receives media coverage in 112 countries in total”.
Its National an International coverage will ensure that it is a worthy promotional
investment for any company interested in developing or promoting its products or
services.
Longstanding Rotorua Mayor Grahame Hall, was full of praise for the event and
commented, ” This event has placed Rotorua and New Zealand firmly in the
spotlight in the Asia Pacific region and furthermore has brought considerable
economic benefits to the city and its community. I have watched this event grow
from its beginnings in 1998 to become a fully fledged international event that we
are proud of”.
Tourism Rotorua General Manager Oscar Nathan says ”Rally organisers have
produced a truly international event that provides Rotorua and New Zealand with
a wonderful platform from which we can promote our uniqueness to the world.
Regionally the event has brought considerable benefits to Rotorua and the
wider region and we are keen to support its growth into the future”.
Chairman Brenssell said “ We would be pleased to meet with any companies
keen to establish a partnership and demonstrate its value as a promotional
opportunity. However success in confirming a new sponsor soon, is critical to the
event continuing to be staged in Rotorua.”
