Charity kisses auction passes $2,200
A charity auction of celebrity kisses that closes today (Tuesday October 29) had this morning raised $2,270 for cancer
charity Look Good … Feel Better.
And going by the bidding, it looks like Nicky Watson and All Black legend Colin Meads are two of our most smoochable
stars.
The auction at http:// http://www.trademe.co.nz is organised by L’Oréal in support of its L’Oréal New Zealand Fashion Week sponsorship.
Forty New Zealand celebrities generously donated lipstick kisses that were mounted on board and displayed at the
L’Oréal Paris Powder Room at the event.
Bidders log on to TradeMe and the funds raised will be used by Look Good … Feel Better to teach beauty techniques to
women with cancer.
At 9.30am today*, celebrity model Nicky Watson topped the list with a bid of $450 while kisses by All Black legend
Colin Meads were fetching $100.
Other popular women are TV personanlities Charlotte Dawson ($101), Katrina Devine ($100) and Kate Hawkesby ($81) and
singer Hayley Westenra.
All Black Doug Howlett was on $98.50 and, after the runway success of L’Oréal New Zealand Fashion Week, the kiss of
local L’Oréal boss Boris Bourdin was bid to $65. Early auction leader Marc Ellis was at $60, one dollar behind his Sky
Sports Café co-presenter Lana Coc-kroft.
L’Oréal Paris managing director Francis Stead urges Kiwis to give the fund-raiser a last minute boost.
“Hundreds of New Zealanders have been bidding for a week now so let’s see if we can get it up to $3,000 before the
auction closes this morning.”
