Welcome Home Celebration For 470 World Champions
Yachting New Zealand invites you to join sponsors, supporters, sailors and media to celebrate the 470 World Championship win of Simon Cooke and Peter Nicholas.
This is the first time kiwis have won the 470 World Championships since 1984 when three times World Champions David Barnes and Hamish Wilcox claimed the title.
Simon Cooke, currently working for Oracle and Peter Nicholas, living and working in Scotland came together this season to sail together once again at the Pre-Olympic test event in Athens in August. They went on to the 470 World Championships in Italy where they won gold.
Cooke will be in attendance, unfortunately as Peter Nicholas has returned to his Scotland home he will not be able to join the celebrations.
High Performance Manager Peter Lester comments "We are extremely proud of Simon and Peter and this is our small way of celebrating their win".
Date: Monday 30th September Venue: Kohimarama Yacht Club - 80 Tamaki Drive Time: 6.30pm
Dress is casual with a cash bar and finger food provided.
