With only weeks to go it¹s time to release details of the TV2 Big Comedy Gala Live at the Aotea Centre, April 30. A star
of the TV2 International LAUGH! Festival, The Gala launches an outrageous festival and is an opportunity for the public
to choose from the best shows in LAUGH!
Jeremy Corbett will host this year¹s BIG showcase, featuring performances by some of the funniest comedians on the world
circuit.
Gala 2002 sees international comedy from Australia, USA, Ireland and the UK, and New Zealand¹s funniest export, Brendhan
Lovegrove, who returns after performing to rave reviews in the UK.
Many of these performers have never been seen in New Zealand before, but are set to star in a cracking Gala, which is
often said to set the tone of LAUGH! Bad boy Canadian, Phil Nichol (Corky and the Juice Pigs), with the endless talent
of USA¹s Peter Bergman, and the dirty Irish charm of Andrew Maxwell, make their New Zealand debut¹s in the TV2 Big
Comedy Gala.
Not only will the Gala showcase the best of local talent but also local bests, with performances from the Billy T
Nominees; Rhys D¹arby, Tarun Mohanbhai, Benjamin Crellin, Dai Henwood, and GARY.
But of course there is more, already creating scandal around the world, guests of the TV2 Big Comedy Gala will see the
debut New Zealand performance of the artistic genius, commonly known as Puppetry of the Penis.
