Linda Clark To Front Nine To Noon On National Radio
Linda Clark will replace Kim Hill as presenter of the high profile Nine To Noon programme on National Radio.
Making the announcement today, Radio New Zealand Chief Executive, Sharon Crosbie, said she was delighted to be able to
appoint such an accomplished and respected broadcaster to one of National Radio’s flagship programmes.
Ms Crosbie emphasised the importance of the appointment for National Radio listeners.
“We were very impressed by applications received from a number of outstanding broadcasters and I believe the quality of
applicants for the position reflects the importance of the Nine To Noon programme for New Zealand radio listeners.
Nine To Noon has a dedicated and loyal audience with a wide range of interests. This is ‘thinking radio’ and our
listeners expect to be challenged and entertained by a diversity of viewpoints from an impressive lineup of guests. The
programme presenter plays a critical role in this interaction.
Linda will put her own personal stamp on the programme but we expect the basic menu will remain the same.”
Linda Clark said she was excited by the challenges that the high profile role will provide:
“Obviously Kim Hill is a tough act to follow but I’m tremendously excited by the challenge and the potential that the
role has to offer. Nine to Noon provides a great opportunity to engage with a dedicated National Radio audience and for
in depth exploration of an extraordinary diversity of topics. “
Appointment of the new presenter for Nine To Noon position has involved a rigorous selection process which required
applicants to outline and develop their ideas for the programme format and to prepare and present a pilot programme for
assessment.
Linda Clark will present her first programme on Monday 8th July.
Nine to Noon will be hosted by Geoff Robinson immediately after Easter and an announcement on presenters to fill the
role until July will be made in due course.
