Only Four Kiwi Punters Back Perks At 150-1

Four TAB punters have joined the New Zealand sporting public in celebrating Kiwi golfer Craig Perks’ dramatic win in The Players Championship in Florida – they backed Perks to win at odds of 150-1.
The TAB opened Palmerston North’s Perks at 150-1 to win the Championship with his odds shortening dramatically over the four days. He was paying $5.50 to win before today’s round.
Three bettors from around the country placed $5 on Perks at 150-1 and a fourth punter put $10 on him.
“What a fantastic win for Perks. He certainly exceeded our expectations,” TAB golf bookie Mark Stafford said.
“It was hard to rate him a winning chance prior to the tournament given the quality of the field and the severity of the course but he came through. The big question now is how do we price him in the Masters?”
