Liz Gunn Finishes Co-Hosting Breakfast
Liz Gunn announced today that she is leaving the BREAKFAST team.
Heaton Dyer, Head of News & Current Affairs, said he and Liz were already discussing other opportunities that would ensure Liz remains an integral member of the ONE NEWS presenting team.
"Liz has made the decision to put her family first which we fully understand and appreciate. I am confident Liz will continue to be part of the ONE NEWS presenting team next year.
"A decision has yet to be made on who will replace Liz as co-host of BREAKFAST. We are currently working through the finer details and hope to make an announcement in the near future."
Shaun Brown, Head of Television, paid tribute to Liz's contribution to BREAKFAST.
"Liz has played a very important role in making BREAKFAST a key component of the ONE NEWS line-up of round-the-clock news that New Zealanders have come to rely on. I fully respect Liz's decision. Her predecessors Susan Wood and Alison Mau had similar difficulties balancing the needs of a young family with the demands of this type of programme. But I'm looking forward to seeing Liz back on air next year in a different role."
