Pukekohe circuit transformed for Boost Mobile V8 International
Not just the racing, but the circuit itself will surprise and delight motor racing fans when they flock to the Pukekohe circuit to watch the Boost Mobile V8 International, according to Geoff Jones, Director of Motorsport for IMG, the event promoters.
The Boost Mobile V8 International is round 12 of the Shell Championship Series for V8 Supercars and is the first round of the popular motor racing series to be run outside Australia. The event is being held from November 9-11 at Pukekohe Park Raceway, about 45 kilometres south of Auckland city.
Geoff Jones says the transformation of the 2.8 kilometre circuit to a truly international motor racing venue is progressing at a great pace. "The whole place has a new look. We've had to bring in additional marquee suppliers to ensure that everything will be ready for the public on November 9," says Mr Jones. "There are hospitality suites at the Boost Mobile Esses, inside and outside of the Holden Hairpin and on Ford Mountain, as well as over the pit lane garages.
"Fans will see that the hill stand has been improved with new seating and that we have built a temporary grandstand beside the existing grandstand along the start-finish straight and another at the Holden Hairpin.
"Pit lane looks completely different with a substantial structure incorporating the team garages with corporate suites above. It's going to be a spectacular sight when it's finished and all the signage is up."
Ticket sales for the three-day motor racing extravaganza continue to be strong, with many fans taking the opportunity to secure a paddock pass which offers access to the V8 Supercar paddock area.
"We know people love to get as close to their racing heroes as they can," says Mr Jones. "The paddock pass will enable fans to enjoy wandering near the V8 Supercar teams."
"The Boost Mobile V8 International will take motor racing to a whole new level for New Zealand fans. We encourage motorsport fans to secure their tickets now to make sure they can be there for this fantastic event at Pukekohe."
