Arts For Your Sake Festival
7 - 21 NOVEMBER 2001
This year the Auckland University of Technology Faculty of Arts has created an opportunity to showcase the collective
and creative talents of its students within the faculty through the implementation of the Arts For Your Sake festival.
The festival will encompass more than two dozen shows and exhibitions featuring works from a range of programmes within
the faculty¡¦s six schools: Art & Design, Hotel & Restaurant Studies, Communication Studies, Languages, Education & Social Sciences and Te Ara Poutama (Faculty of Maori Development).
These shows have been tailored to compliment each other in concept and timing ensuring that the wider community has an
opportunity to experience the diversity of programmes available at the AUT Faculty of Arts.
The festival¡¦s objectives include the display of commitment to disciplines taught and achievements reached while
further developing an interface with the wider Auckland and international communities in the various fields of cultural
and artistic endeavour.
The Arts For Your Sake festival will take place from Wednesday 7th to Wednesday 21st November. Festival venues include
AUT Learning Centre, AUT Truffles Restaurant, the Aotea Centre foyer and NZI Convention Hall.
The official opening of the Festival will be by the Prime Minister, the Right Honourable Helen Clark, Wednesday, 7
November 2001, at 6.00 p.m. at the Learning Centre, Wellesley Street Campus.
