Is There A Kiwi Out There Who Wants To Be Famous?
Is there an enthusiastic New Zealander who has what it takes to host an international travel series on the Discovery Travel and Adventure Channel?
The quest is on to find a vibrant Kiwi to front a television series focusing on New Zealand. The winner of the nationwide competition will be filmed early next year as the presenter of Destination Week ? New Zealand.
The week-long, primetime show will be beamed to thousands of television sets in Asia, the Pacific and on New Zealand's Saturn network.
"This is an unique opportunity for all New Zealanders, whether they've had media experience or just want to be on TV for the first time, to achieve their ambitions to be an international presenter," says Kevin Dickie, Director, Marketing and Communications Discovery Networks Asia.
"Discovery Travel and Adventure Channel is a fresh new experience devoted to informing people who have the desire to experience more of the people and places around the world. It includes world-class documentaries, thrill-seeking adventures, as well as the ever-popular Destination Week where one country is showcased each week."
To enter Discovery Travel and Adventure Channel's search for a Kiwi presenter hopefuls must fill in an entry form and send in a three minute (max) VHS recording of themselves presenting their home or town as the ultimate holiday destination. Entry forms can be found in the latest issue of New Zealand Woman's Weekly, or by downloading an entry form from the Saturn TV website www.saturn.co.nz.
Entries must be received by Monday 29 October 2001. All entries should be sent to Discovery Travel and Adventure Channel's Search for a Kiwi Presenter, PO Box 37-116, Parnell, Auckland.
