Vodafone Warriors Focus Only On Roosters

Auckland, New Zealand, August 14, 2001 – The Vodafone Warriors today announced their team for Saturday night’s fixture against the Sydney City Roosters with Mark Tookey moving to the starting line-up to replace the injured Logan Swann.
Head coach, Daniel Anderson said his only focus of attention is the game against the Roosters, reiterating that it is dangerous for his team to get too far ahead of themselves by starting to think about the finals series.
“I was impressed with the Roosters fight-back against the Storm last weekend and with the ability of Brad Fittler to inject himself in to the game at vital stages. Their form of the last two weeks is as impressive as anyone in the competition,” said Anderson.
“Two form teams, still with a lot to play for – that’s what makes this weekend’s game so fascinating. The loss of Logan for at least three weeks (dislocated shoulder) is a big blow to us. However, our form is good, highlighted by the achievement of two milestones last weekend, keeping the Sharks scoreless and recording three consecutive wins.”
Daniel Anderson has named the following team to take on the Sydney City Roosters:
1. Ivan Cleary
2. Henry Faafili
3. Wairangi Koopu
4. Clinton Toopi
5. Francis Meli
6. Motu Tony
7. Stacey Jones (c)
8. Jerry SeuSeu
9. Monty Betham
10. Mark Tookey
11. Ali Lauitiiti
12. Awen Guttenbeil
13. Kevin Campion (c)
14. Nathan Wood
15. Richard Villasanti
16. David Myles
17. Shontayne Hape
18. Jason Death
The Vodafone Warriors will play the Sydney City Roosters, at Ericsson Stadium, Saturday August 18, 7.30pm local time.
