Down At The End of The Garden
To match the release of their long-awaited album proper, renowned Dunedin/Wellington pop experimentalists "Cloudboy" are
transcending the boundaries between concert and theatre. Touring the country with a hybrid show of live and electronic
music, film and pantomime, the cast are inviting you to follow their journey through the songs from "Down At The End Of
The Garden". A lushly orchestrated avant-pop album, Cloudboy¹s latest offering evokes a technicolor netherworld of epic
proportions, ranging from the brooding and melancholic to the absolutely sublime.
Translating the musical vision into theatre unreality are key players Demarnia Lloyd (singer/narrator), Craig Monk
(violin, guitar, keyboard) and Johannes Contag (flute, electronics) with vocalists/performers Andy Cummings and J T
Mitchell, as well as a group of guest musicians picked from Wellington¹s highly acclaimed Jazz "improv" scene; film
projections are staged by Dunedin Fringe Festival VJ Alan Thomasson; sets and costumes will be provided courtesy of
Donna Demente, whose work in transfiguring Oamaru¹s historic quarter has been met with great critical acclaim.

ŒGypsy Trail¹ takes you on a musical and visual journey through time following the Rom on their nomadic wanderings.
The music and dance of the gypsy or Rom people is a reflection of their travels, beginning almost 1000 years ago, from
their homeland in India into the Middle-East and on into Europe. In each country they settled the Rom not only absorbed
local music and dance and mixed it with their own, they also influenced the dominant culture. The Rom people act as a
link between the 3 different dance styles presented in this production.
