" A Bad smell is hard to get rid of "
Jon Stubbs returns to Wellington and more importantly to BATS to present the Universe Premiere of " Being Jon Stubbs ". He stayed up late for many nights and formed it into three quarters of an hour of puppets, politicians and the odd rabbit along the way.
So who is Jon Stubbs ? And what have others said about him ? Craccum said " pleasantly like an escaped mental patient presenting playschool ", the Sunday Star Times said " Stubbs shows himself to be an actor of considerable range " but it was best said by the New Zealand Herald " a sexy muffin "

An exuberant tale filled with rain, mud, and magic. A tale of giant moa, tiny people and the journey of a large green egg.
'True New Zealand Theatre, ingenious and ingenuous with a strong seasoning of myth and legend.' - Waikato Times
In the shadow of Maungameimei, the mountain of gathering, local pig huntress Minna and pregnant newcomer Dianne strike up an unlikely friendship. As they grow closer, Minna begins to tell the much younger woman her story – a magnetic story of love and loss, history and place. Shifting between 19th Century Ireland and present day rural Northland, Minna's narrative reveals a New Zealand full of magic, and possibility - mountains that talk, pig hunters that dance, and... flying moa?
Moa Hunting is written and performed by John Bolton Theatre School graduates Kate Parker and Julie Nolan.
