New Look Vodafone Warriors Name Team
Auckland, New Zealand, February 13, 2001 – Vodafone Warriors Coach
Daniel Anderson has named his first team for 2001. Co-captained by Stacey Jones and Kevin Campion, the side will meet the Canberra Raiders this Sunday, February 18, at Ericsson Stadium, 4pm.
“We are prepared for Sunday, physically and mentally. There is a good buzz among the guys. The younger players especially are determined to consolidate positions in the first grade squad – competition will not just be with the Raiders, but with each other. No one will be complacent and I’m expecting a good result,” says Anderson.
Vodafone Warriors general manager, Mick Watson, is looking forward to kick-off. “There has been a lot of work done in these past four months, both on and off the field. It’s exciting things are finally coming to fruition. Recent levels of public support have been phenomenal – attendance at the Open Day was better than expected. We look forward to seeing everyone back on Sunday.”
Gates will open on Sunday at 2pm, and the curtain raiser (New Zealand Police vs. Australian Police) will commence at 2.15pm.
The Vodafone Warriors line-up will be as follows:
