'Cheeky' New Pizza Haven Ads Air- No Butts About It
Irreverent pizza chain, Pizza Haven, continues its cheeky advertising style with the launch of a new campaign for a
healthier pizza.
Coined the "Bum in the Box" campaign, it launches the company's new 'Pan Bake' pizza, which has 90% less oil than
traditional pan fried pizzas.
The ad screened for the first time last night on TV3. In the commercial, slices of the new pizza are taken from a pizza
box and finally reveals a picture of a bikini- clad bottom, at the same time the words "and a surprise in every pizza
box.... no oily residue" are heard.
Pizza Haven group brand manager, Simon Burley, says the Bum in the Box campaign continues the company's tongue-in-cheek
advertising style with the new ad targeting health conscious men and women of all ages.
Australians have lapped up the campaign since it was launched in mid January. Made from Young and Rubicam Adelaide, the
15 sec commercial will screen here for the next two months on TV3.
Pizza Haven commercials have caused controversy in the past. In May last year, the New Zealand Advertising Standards
Authority banned two of the chain's ads after receiving complaints that they incited violence.
Simon Burley doesn't expect the same reaction this time. "It's a bit of fun and a good way to show people that we now
provide a healthier fast food option."
