Highly controversial information obtained secretly from inside the Chinese Politburo will be revealed in a book, The Tiananmen Papers published in New Zealand tomorrow about the 1989 massacre.
The book, seen as landmark event, will change how people regard the most important event in modern Chinese history. The Tiananmen Papers is an extraordinary collaboration between people inside China and America’s most prominent China scholars, Andrew Nathan, professor of Politics at Colombia University, Perry Link, professor of Chinese Language and Literature at Princeton University and Orville Schell dean of graduate studies in journalism at the University of California.
The Tiananmen Papers shows in vivid detail exactly how and who in the secretive Chinese ruling elite made the decision to send in the People’s Liberation Army to crush student protestors.
The book, published by Little, Brown and distributed in New Zealand by Penguin will be available from bookstores tomorrow priced at $79.95.
