Something to check out this week before Christmas bares down; Surprise - A Christmas Exhibition, 360 / Michael Hirschfeld Gallery14 December 2000 - 14 January 2001, Twenty-five Wellington artists will spill the beans for Christmas in an exhibition opening this week. The artists have each presented work based around the theme of 'surprise'. And already you should start getting your crazy costumes ready for early next year's Cuba Street Carnival, Fringe Festival and the popular Whopper Chopper series. Wednesday 20th The Domestic Lounge presents Jonathan Crayford Jonathan Crayford and his scratch band play live jazz jams the middle Wednesdays of the month. Join the Matterhorn crew for a lively evening of jazz noodles. Crayford is the bomb session musician who has played amongst legends James Brown and Tito Puente.
Thursday 21st Manuel Bundy jets in fresh from his European tour with Mark De Clive Lowe, Manuel is the mixmaster of many styles, especially hip hop, funk, soul and rare grooves. Manuel has recently released his latest mix CD on the glossiest issue of Re:mix magazine to date (November 2000)
Friday 22nd Mu & Zen Gotta love Mu and Zen. They are the dj tag team with hits for the dancefloor, Zen and Mu live it up with the sweetest soul, funk, reggae, house and the best of the rest. The most relaxing way to spend a Friday night is dancing in the garden to this dope dj pair; Join em this and every Friday night at The Matterhorn, funkin¹ your stuff.
Saturday 23rd Expansions with b.lo Bass Frontiers resident b-lo is the Matterhorn¹s weekly smart vibes; his Thursday night residency at The Matterhorn is a popular weekend warm-up. b-lo plays all styles from drum and bass, jazz and techno all knitted with funk and soul b-lo's dancefloor is never an empty one, b.lo moves to Saturday for one show only and hosts our laid back new years bash also.

Sunday 31st New Years Warm Up at The Matterhorn. Come join friends and family at the ŒHorn for an early new years session. B.lo hosts the evening and starts at 6pm, keeping it mellow, pop in for a drink and dinner before your big night on the town. Fat Freddy¹s play their live set to ring in the real millennium 2001 from 11pm and the Matterhorn will close around 1-ish so our extra special staff can go party too. Happy new years!

Saturday 6th The Late show with Vee and Clinton Smiley Vee IS the party, a little bit of everything in his bag will get your feet moving on Saturdays at The ŒHorn. Vee will be mixing it up with a supple blend of hip hop, house and the big party tunes, Vee has no cheese, just sweet rhythms. This week Local house god Clinton Smiley guests on the wheels of steel, a little bit of house, 2 step, and loads of stunning tunes. Its sure to be funky.
Sunday 7th SPOT ON SUNDAYS (debut) With Cian and Zero Join as at The Matterhorn for our new entertainment directive for the late summer months. Now we bring you Spot On Sundays, a late afternoon session in the Matterhorn Gardens with travelling monkey Cian and the navigator Zero playing a refreshing and relaxing blend of mood grooves. A friends and family session.
