MONTEITH'S BRINGS TASTE OF SUMMER TO LIFE Monteith's master, Keith Armstrong, believes interest in this year's limited
edition Summer Ale will be even more intense than past years "Demand for our Summer Ale has steadily increased over the
previous two summer's that we have been brewing it," he says. "I think this is due to the fact that it is an extremely
refreshing beer which uniquely complements New Zealand's warm summer climate and outdoor lifestyle."
LION LAUNCHES MUNICH BOCK Lion Breweries have released the third beer in the Brewmaster's Selection series, a bitter /
sweet brew to celebrate the start of summer and the vitality of the season. It is available from the end of October in
selected outlets. Named Munich Bock, it is a German-style malt beer with a prominent, fruity hop aroma which carries
through into the taste. The fruity overtones are delivered through a blend of Pacific Hallertau hop and the unique

BEERWORKS EXPANDING PREMISES Just a few months after receiving the Supreme Award in the New Zealand International Beer
Awards 2000, Wanaka Beerworks is expanding its premises and plant. Since the awards, it has installed a new bottling
machine designed for boutique breweries which fills and caps 2000 bottles a hour.
BELGIAN BEER DINNER – AUCKLAND 3 NOVEMBER If you enjoy fine food and beverages then our stylish Belgian Beer and
Food-Matching Dinner is for you. This unique event will be staged in the Stamford Ballroom on Friday, 3 November from
6.30pm. Hosting the event will be Interbrew's Australasian brand champion, Robert Briers who is based in Sydney. Robert

HEINEKEN EUROFEST STREET FESTIVAL 3-5 NOVEMBER Auckland's viaduct basin area will be alive with the sights, sounds and
smells of Europe this weekend as it hosts the Heineken Eurofest street festival as part of the inaugural Festival of
Europe celebrations. For three days Aucklanders will get the opportunity to polish up their European accents, indulge
the taste buds with European food and beverages and be entertained by European performers.

DB TO OFFER WIECKSE WITTE Something to watch out for – DB’s response to the burgeoning popularity of cloudy wheat beers.
A quiet wander around the Viaduct last week turned up a restaurant-load of DB staffers busily acquainting themselves
with a Dutch Wieckse Witte from de Ridder brewery in Maastricht. The word is that the beer will be launched mid-November
and stick around until Easter.
Served with a slice of lemon, Wieckse Witte is a 5.2 per cent cloudy, very citric, yeasty and easy to drink loaded with
spice, cloves and peel flavours, light in the mouth and finished before you can utter “half a Hoegaarden”.
