Auckland artist, Dick Frizzell’s latest work - a colourful 27-metre mural - has been erected in the Bledisloe Concourse
and is now available for viewing and photographing.
The work depicts Auckland as the 'City of Sails' and was produced off-site on to panels. The phrase “Auckland 2000” is
depicted in semaphore flags along its length.
Designed by Dick Frizzell, it was produced with spray paints by his son, Otis.
The work was commissioned jointly by Auckland City and the Force Corporation to brighten up the concourse. The $20,000
cost was split equally and is a gift to the people of Auckland.
The Bledisloe Concourse is located between Aotea Square and Wellesley Street and is the site of the Wellesley Street
post office.
