“Fat Controller” is a new innovative Internet publishing system used by TVNZ to produce secure, quality content for the
new TVNZ website – nzoom.com.
It divides tasks amongst the website team, allowing individuals to use their skills most effectively. It improves
efficiency by reducing the production time and reducing the skills required by editors.
“At heart, ‘Fat Controller’ enables nzoom.com staff to “write once/publish many” – one of the keys to efficiency in the
new media world,” says nzoom General Manager, Simon Aimer.
Developed by the Auckland-based company, Artisan Group Limited for TVNZ, the most important strengths exhibited by the
Fat Controller are that it has a design that is powerful and flexible enough to support evolving requirements; it
provides effective quality control and audit trail systems; it produces a variety of finished product, yet it keeps the
editorial process simple, consistent and efficient.
These strengths have allowed TVNZ to improve the quality of their Internet offering significantly and ensure it is
completely up to date at all times.
nzoom.com will launch on Sunday 19 March 2000.
