“Bigger, Faster, Cheaper” Targets 5% of Turnout
Auckland - 24 November 1999 - It’s big and it’s pink and it’s hitting the hustings. FlyingPig.co.nz, New Zealand’s first
Internet SuperSite, today launched a bid for the consumer vote.
The increasingly familiar hot pink FlyingPig.co.nz icon today appeared on placards, stickers and flyers as Friends of
the Pig distributed copies of its ten- point manifesto.
“We’re unashamedly appealing to people who want more for less: more choice, better service and lower costs,” says CEO
Adam Keller. “We’re committed to being bigger, faster, cheaper. We think that’s a proposition worth voting for.”
Isn’t making a late charge at the party faithful asking a bit much for a brand new Internet company?
Not at all, says Adam. “FlyingPig.co.nz is a great name on which to build an online company. It implies that anything’s
possible. We hope to get over 5% of voters visting us this Saturday.”
There are some compelling reasons for visiting, and voting for, FlyingPig.co.nz. 1.2 million to be precise. That’s the
number of books the site launches with. It also has New Zealand’s largest range of videos, software and home/office
stationery. And if that still doesn’t get your vote, music, computers, computer peripherals, electronics and home
appliances will soon be added.
“The customer is king, and nowhere more so than on the Internet,” says Keller. “If you’re connected, give
FlyingPig.co.nz your vote this Saturday. Remember, click FlyingPig.co.nz.”
