NEW ZEALAND JOB SITE TAKES ON THE BIG BOYS AND WINS
19 November 1999 - New Zealand job site nzjobs.co. (www.nzjobs.co.nz) has just won the annual New Zealand NetGuide Internet Awards for 1999.
There were 21 entries for the awards.
Finalists were: Monster, Morgan & Banks, Seek, Net Classifieds, Job Universe, WINZ and nzjobs.co.
The international panel of judges said " nzjobs.co is an excellent site with a good understanding of their target market. The extra value added support functions provided on this site, together with the breadth of jobs from New Zealand and overseas markets, makes it a winner."
General Manager nzjobs.co, Tessa Stewart, said, "The Internet is quickly becoming an extremely effective recruitment tool. Many global players have entered the New Zealand market making competition fierce. This award has shown that with a lot of Kiwi ingenuity, hard work and good local content, a New Zealand site can take on the big boys and win!"
"Over 1,500 jobs are listed on the nzjobs.co site with 500 different client organisations placing advertising. The site is updated constantly through every working day," Ms Stewart said.
New Zealand is now at the forefront of Internet users, per capita, in the world. Over 50% of New Zealanders now have access to the Internet, with over one million people described as 'regular users.' (Source: ACNielson)
