INCREASED FOCUS ON SERVICES
New Zealand CCS is reorganising its management and administration structure to move more of its resources to services.
Chief Executive, Kevin Allan, says that New Zealand CCS branches have been working under separate management and administration structures.
"Until now we have been operating as 17 separate organisations with 11 different accounting systems and 14 separate payroll systems. This has led to higher than sustainable administration costs, duplication and a barrier to improving efficiency," Mr Allan said.
The organisation will now comprise seven management regions and has embarked on a programme to standardise many of the administrative functions. Improved information and reporting systems will also increase the organisation's ability to negotiate and maintain service contracts with government funding agencies.
"The essential goal is to move resources previously committed to management and administration to developing and increasing our services at the local level," he said.
Seventeen management positions will be disestablished and replaced by 11 new positions. The new positions include three national Service Leaders to work with staff to develop New Zealand CCS services and establish national service standards and quality systems.
