Have you visited http://www.silva.co.nz lately? This website is becoming an essential resource for New Zealand importers and exporters.
You can check hourly exchange rate updates from the National Bank, track your shipments with most airlines and international couriers, and search for tariffs, concessions, supplier codes and Customs exchange rates.
The site also includes an archive of all previous Import News items. You can search for articles by key words, and email them to friends directly from the website.
We have made the site easier to find your way around and ensured all pages have a consistent style. Most of the content was edited by Lost For Words (http://www.lostforwords.co.nz ), (ashleyj@xtra.co.nz ) so it is easy to read and understand - a highly recommended service.
Through our on-line seminars, you can learn about "Getting Started in Importing", "Advanced Import Management" and "Building an Interactive Website". If you register on-line we will let you know the dates of our next face-to-face seminars.
Under the menu item "Other Docs", you will find several technical papers on topics such as parallel importing, duty and GST, Incoterms, rules of origin, buying commissions, concession policy, goods subject to anti-dumping, as well as a live time-zones map and more.
Have you seen anything on the web recently that would improve our site? If so, let us know so we can make it even more useful. Add http://www.silva.co.nz to your favourites now.
