The meetings are closed sessions, however we are happy to arrange an interview with the keynote speaker, Steve Marshall,
following the meetings.
The issues he will cover are pertinent to the coming election campaign and are an analysis of those policies that will
affect the ability to do business. These include Labour and the Alliance's pledges to repeal the Employment Contracts
Act, renationalise Accident Compensation and raise personal tax rates.
The NZEF commissioned research earlier this year that showed New Zealand workers are happy with the current industrial
framework whereby workers can negotiate directly with their employers. Under proposed policy changes the unions will be
granted considerable powers, as they will be the only people who will be able to negotiate collective contracts, among
other things.

The research finding and an analysis of the different party policies will be discussed.
