Case Study.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW)
The ICAEW is the largest accountancy body in Europe and widely acknowledged as one of the leading professional bodies in the world. The organisation has more than 100,000 members engaged across a variety of public practice, private business and academic organisations.
The ICAEW sought a system to provide superior levels of information at department level and month end results within 12-36 hours of close down. Interfaces to their membership system were also required along with high level functionality and the management of high volumes of data. OpenAccounts Financials was chosen after a rigorous selection process that initially started with 40 appropriate packages, nine of which were demonstrated.
The ICAEW's Treasurer's Report subsequently commented:
`OpenAccounts came on stream, on time, on specification and on budget. It has greatly improved access to the information available to run and control our business and has speeded up the production of monthly and special reports".
Four years on, ICAEW are migrating to the latest GUI version of OpenAccounts to take advantage of key desktop integration facilities.
