Stoneleigh Vineyards Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc Once Again Honoured In Europe
A Marlborough sauvignon blanc has won a gold medal in a
competition held in association with one of Europe's top wine fairs.
Stoneleigh Vineyards Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 1998 scored 18.5
points out of a possible 20.
More than 1800 wines were submitted for Expovina Zurich which is
held in Switzerland every second year, judged by a panel of 80 wine
experts.
Export manager for the Stoneleigh range, David Nicholas, says
"this latest win will strengthen Stoneleigh's already strong
position in the European market, paving the way for Stoneleigh to
enter the lucrative and extremely high profile Swiss market."
Stoneleigh Vineyards Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is already the
most widely available New Zealand wine in the world.
In North America the wine has been a huge hit this northern
summer, making the cover of one top wine magazine and reaching the
top 10 summer whites list for another. Last month Canada's Wine
Access magazine called it a terrific value, zesty, piquant sauvignon
blanc and photographed it for its cover. In the same month US
Food and Wine magazine chose it as the only New Zealand wine to
feature in its top ten list of summer whites from around the world.
