Telecom today officially launched 'Pulsate', its new series of sponsorships and events involving activities like
surfing, snowboarding and skating.
Pulsate sprang from an idea trialled last summer when Telecom ran a series of four free outdoor events in New Plymouth,
Napier, Tauranga and Wanganui. Each event was a mixture of music, sport and demonstrations - with the emphasis on a
great day out.
Pulsate project manager Emily Redmond said the positive feedback from people who attended the summer series was
staggering and as a result a whole programme of events is now being developed.
"Our first major event is the sponsorship of the Pulsate Wanaka Big Air," she said.
"The Pulsate Wanaka Big Air is the grand finale of two weeks of international ski and snowboarding action in the Mount
Aspiring National Park. More than 100 of the world's best skiers and boarders, including World Champions and Olympians,
are here from all around the globe for the Rip Curl Heli Challenge and the Pulsate Wanaka Big Air.
"For the Big Air a snow ramp has been built in Lismore Park, Wanaka and top ski and snowboard aerialists will be
entertaining an audience of over 5,000 spectators.
"We've launched a Pulsate website which will have information about Team Pulsate, up and coming events, cool links and

"Through Team Pulsate, Telecom is helping a group of talented young people achieve their goals and through Pulsate
sponsored events we'll be helping stage opportunities for others to participate in or to see their heroes in action,"
Emily Redmond said.
