Dairy Industry Restructuring Bill On Website

Published: Mon 19 Jul 1999 12:52 AM
Dairy Farmers of NZ National Chairman Charlie Pedersen said today that he was pleased with the publicity and debate that was beginning to occur around the changes mooted to the New Zealand dairy industry.
"Clearly farmers are ready and more than willing to debate the issues - all they need is the full information," Mr Pedersen said. "I have seen the information that most companies have sent to their suppliers and some is absolutely excellent."
"Federated Farmers is assisting by supplying the Dairy Industry Restructuring Bill on our web page at http://www.fedfarm.org.nz. We will add press releases and any other information that we think will add to this monumental reform process, which will inevitably be decided by farmers," Mr Pedersen added.
Dairy farmers are being asked to have their responses to the bill to DFNZ Dairy Industry Manager Kevin Petersen by Friday. The tight timeframe is a consequence of the submission deadline of 13 August, 1999. Mr Petersen's contact details are also on the website.
