Osmose Inc, the leading manufacturer and supplier of water-based industrial wood preservatives in North America, has
recently announced its acquisition of the Protim Solignum group from Burmah Castrol Plc. Protim Solignum, a UK based
group with operations in Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Asia is a world leader in the supply of products and
technology for low pressure/vacuum treatments of timber.
Ian McConnell, the CEO of Protim Solignum said "The new company will offer an expanded range of products and services
encompassing high pressure treatment systems (CCA), low pressure treatment systems (Organic Solvents & Microemulsions), industrial fence panel treatments (Fentex), ancillary products for the treated timber market (water
repellents, cut end coats, speciality fasteners), quality woodstains and finishes, and remedial timber and masonry
treatment systems. We in Protim Solignum and our customers are delighted to be joining a company which is totally
focused on the business of wood preservation".
