April 15 (BusinessDesk) - The government’s first Budget based on a new ‘well-being’ focus for policy-making was signed
off at today’s Cabinet meeting, for delivery on May 30.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern nominated areas including investment in mental health services, domestic violence and
child poverty for special attention.
In keeping with the usual practice of making the most political mileage from key Budget decisions, a number of
initiatives will be announced in coming weeks.
Ardern also confirmed the government will formally respond to the Tax Working Group's final report before the end of
April. No date was specified.
