OMD has won the SKYCITY media account following a competitive pitch. Work commences immediately.
SKYCITY, the world class entertainment complex in the heart of Auckland’s CBD includes the SKYCITY and Grand Hotels, SKYCITY Convention Centre, SKYCITY Theatre, Sky Tower, Federal Street, SKYCITY Casino and the Let’s Play Live E Sports studio. SKYCITY recently announced it will be the home of the All Blacks Experience, a world first interactive visitor attraction.
Jon Spittle, GM Marketing at SKYCITY, said, “SKYCITY Auckland today is a truly integrated world class entertainment resort, appealing to a huge cross section of people both locally and internationally, and we felt the time was right to bring a similarly integrated and global approach to our media strategy. Digital has a huge role to play in our media landscape, but we wanted to ensure we didn’t forget the value that traditional channels continue to offer both here and overseas. OMD impressed us with their vision, their expertise and their pragmatism. We are really looking forward to this partnership as SKYCITY moves into another exciting phase of growth.”
Nigel Douglas, OMD CEO, is thrilled to be working with one of New Zealand’s largest entities. “We are eager to start work with SKYCITY. The account perfectly complements our portfolio with Auckland centric clients such as Heart of the City, Auckland Council, and Auckland Transport. Everyone is jumping at the chance to work on New Zealand’s premier entertainment complex,” said Nigel.
