BACS Good Business Egg Awards 2018 Finalists
The 2018 BACS Good Business Egg Awards are hotting up after the shortlist of finalists have been decided. Once again a
range of NZ companies with good corporate social responsibility have been scrutinized to see who really ‘walks the talk’
rather than just doing a range of branding exercises.
“Some new names have been seen this year with some older participants looking a little weary. However reporting on what
companies are doing in New Zealand is a fascinating practise, the recipients in communities are the ones that tell us
who and what is really working. ” says Julie Donvin-Irons BACS Founder and CEO.
The 2018 list of finalists comprises of 14 NZ businesses considered to be worthy of winning a Good Business Egg.
Experienced community leaders make up the judging panels and it is they that make the final decision as to who will win.
Last year the 3 business winners presented with a BACS Living Award were; ANZ, Countdown and The Warehouse. The quirky
but meaningful awards are presented in terms of a challenge to the winners, the “Pile of Bricks” award is about
Loneliness in New Zealand.
The process goes throughout the year when communities and charities note businesses that are worthy to go onto the list.
Once a business is considered for the awards, each one is processed carefully until the finalists are allocated into the
three categories in the BACS Good Business Egg Awards, health and wellbeing, education and skills and community
empowerment for the final judging.
The awards and the results of the “Pile of Bricks” will be presented on April 12th kindly hosted by Countdown in
Auckland. There will also be a report on the findings from the 2017 BACS Good Business Eggs with comments from the
panels included.
The popular event is now in its sixth year and provides opportunities for both community organisations and businesses to
meet in the same space and experience the exhilaration of the Cadbury crème egg scramble at the end of the
presentations.

The 2018 shortlist includes (in alphabetical order): ANZ, Auckland Airport, Cadbury, Chorus, Countdown, DB Breweries,
Deloitte, Fonterra, IBM, New World, Noel Leeming, SKYCITY, Spark and The Warehouse.
