Green Cross community head Simon Lipscombe leaves to head Compass NZ food service group

Jan. 22 (BusinessDesk) - Green Cross Health's community health chief Simon Lipscombe will leave the listed primary health care group to lead the New Zealand arm of food and support services firm Compass Group.
Auckland-based Green Cross today said Lipscombe accepted the managing director position of Compass Group (New Zealand) and will transition out of his existing role over the next six months. Lipscombe joined Green Cross in 2015 and successfully grew the community health business, improved client service and made it more efficient, the company said.
"The board and management at Green Cross Health are extremely grateful for his guidance and leadership particularly with the significant changes the community health sector has experienced over that time," it said in a statement.
Green Cross's community health unit provides home care and community nursing to more than 20,000 people, serviced primarily through its Access Community Health division. It bought Access for $18 million in 2014, adding to other acquisitions in community care.
Compass New Zealand is owned by London-listed Compass Group and employs more than 2,500 people across 200 locations. The New Zealand holding company generated annual sales of $216 million in the September 2016 year, up from $171.1 million a year earlier, according to the latest statements lodged with the Companies Office.
Green Cross shares fell 2.4 percent to $2 and have dropped 19 percent over the past 12 months.
