Geeks on Wheels SOLD!
Matthew Carr-Gomm – the founder of Geeks on Wheels (New Zealand) announces the nationwide business has been sold to
Seaview Enterprises Limited, with new owner Matt Woolston taking over as CEO.
Geeks on Wheels was started in Wellington in 2005 by Matthew Carr-Gomm, a mobile computer support service, positioned as
the trusted advisor for the consumer and SME markets, offering a fast, friendly and efficient service at a customer’s
home or office to help consumers navigate the increasing complexity of the technological landscape.
Starting from a single Wellington operation, Geeks on Wheels has grown into a nationwide business, servicing clients
from Auckland to Dunedin, primarily residential and some commercial, employing 40+ mobile technicians across all the
main centres of New Zealand, with over 80,000 customers, completing over 500+ jobs per week & generating revenues exceeding $6.7M p.a.
Former Geeks on Wheels CEO, Matthew Carr-Gomm, says, “It is with both excitement and sadness to announce Geeks on Wheels is now operated under new ownership. The business has
been running for over 12 years, and so it seems appropriately timed to fully step out of the business now, making way
for new, fresh leadership to take the business onwards and forwards in to a bright and exciting future. I would like to
thank all the amazing staff who have helped make Geeks on Wheels punch well above its weight in terms of the maturity of
its systems, process and capability, making it the reputable business it is today.”
The new owners are husband and wife team Matt Woolston and Cathy Empson.
