Watercare Worker About to Be Discharged From Hospital
The Watercare worker who received minor burns to his face and arms whilst investigating a wastewater pipe in Ladies Mile, Remuera will be discharged from Middlemore Hospital within the hour.
Watercare can confirm a pipe blocked by tree roots was being repaired at the time.
WorkSafe has been notified and Watercare has begun an investigation as to the cause of the accident.
The site remains cordoned off. Traffic is flowing normally.
