Climate Change & Business Summit: 10-11 October 2017

The world is changing fast. Technological advancements, political upheavals, and ecological deterioration are causing massive disruption to business as usual. An economic revolution is underway. And underpinning it all is climate change.

Climate change is driving big changes in technology, investment, development and politics. The businesses that thrive in the New Economy will be those that factor climate change into decision-making and harness the opportunities its disruption creates. Those that don’t will be faced with serious stranded asset and litigation risks. They will be left behind.

This year’s conference will unpick the New Economy and explore what businesses need to do to succeed. It will examine the mess that is the USA and what its intransigence means for the Paris Agreement. It will analyse government and business level decision-making required to reduce emissions and to adapt. And it will examine what New Zealand would look like in 2050 if we harness the technologies and land use changes needed to get to net zero emissions.

The event is perfectly placed just after the New Zealand election and before COP23 for delegates to be at the cutting edge of the fast-moving world of climate change policies. It is intended to be a one-stop shop for updates, discussion, and exchange of ideas, bringing experts, business, and policy-makers into play.
