Māori IT Company lays foundation for award winners
Thursday July 27 2017 - Whānau Tahi managing director Ray Noonan says the fact that the Whānau Tahi platform is behind four major category
winners at this year’s Pharmacy Awards is timely recognition for an IT company that has always punched above its weight.
The company owned by Waipareira is the brains behind the Whānau Tahi Connected Care platform, used by the supreme winner
Waimauku Village Pharmacy.
The pharmacy, North West of Auckland, cleaned up at the Pharmacy Awards winning Community Pharmacy of the Year,
Innovation in Delivering People Centred Care and Advice award and the RB Supreme award.
Ray said the Innovation in Delivering People Centred Care and Advice award was especially pleasing.
The category recognises stand out achievements including new services and how pharmacies have embraced technology to
suit the needs of their community and to drive people centred care.
“For us, it’s about giving that power of self-care and determination to the people and not the specialist clinical
staff,” Ray said.
“It’s about creating meaningful outcomes for whānau.
“We are extremely pleased for Robbie Hannon, Diana Phone and their amazing team at Waimauku Village Pharmacy.”
Diana acknowledged Whānau Tahi for its on-going support.

Connected Care platform enables whānau, in partnership with health and Social service practitioners and professionals to
take ownership of their well-being and agree a single whānau plan that supports them to get well, stay well and become
self-determining in all aspects of their well-being, no matter what their circumstances or age.
There are four key foundations to the way Connected Care platform works: * Being person-centred and family and whānau
focused * Enabling partnerships * Being informed by the evidence * Working together in cross sector inter-disciplinary
teams.
This is not the first time Whānau Tahi has been recognised either locally or internationally. Last year it created
history when it was a finalist in the 2016 Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards. They were the first NZ-based company to
do so. That accolade came on the back of nominations for the NZ high tech awards.
