New Zealand Ministry of Education Approves Coretex for School Vehicle Location Tracking
Auckland, 18th July 2017.
Coretex, the leader in Active Fleet Management Solutions announced that the New Zealand Ministry of Education has
approved Coretex technology for use in school transportation vehicle location tracking.
Earlier this year, the New Zealand government mandated that all school transport operators under contract to the
Ministry of Education, must have an approved vehicle telematics system fitted to their vehicles from January 2018. The
mandate is designed to improve the monitoring of the school transport fleet, as part of the Ministry’s commitment to
student health and safety.
With Coretex hardware installed in vehicles, Coretex is able to provide the Ministry of Education and fleet operators
with real-time High Definition information about vehicle location, time, speed, heavy braking and sharp cornering, which
are all factors that influence the passenger experience. The data is used to improve driver behaviour and ensure that
safety standards are met continuously.
Selwyn Pellet, Coretex Chief Executive Officer said “I’m pleased that we’re now approved to support this important
initiative. In conjunction with our electronic Road User Charging solution we’re able to provide bus fleet operators in
New Zealand with a complete end-to end compliance solution, which is proven to help them run safer, greener and more
efficient fleets.”
