In demand development nears release of second stage
When released to the market last year, all 50 sections of Richmond’s new Hart Rise development sold within 24 hours.
Now, as an onsite reservoir nears completion, the developers say it symbolises the next phase of the 130 section
project.
The reservoir, currently being erected in the South-West corner of the site, is due for completion at the end of June
and connects to the existing TDC town supply.
The reservoir is an interim fix, and will allow for the continuation of section release in Hart Rise, as well as service
the surrounding residential area. As part of the temporary solution to Richmond South’s water supply, the reservoir will
allow 250 homes to be built, including a number in adjacent development Paton Rise.
The reservoir will eventually be decommissioned and dismantled when mid level and high level replacements are in place
to service all of Richmond South.
Hart Rise spokesperson Gordon Webb says the new reservoir is a welcome sight, as it represents a key next step in the
development and for Richmond as a growth area.
“In terms of housing, there is a critical need for residential sections, and Hart Rise is part of a solution to fill the
gap of undersupply that the region is currently experiencing.”

With infrastructure, roading and service contracts set for completion by the end of July, and the release of the second
stage of the development imminent, Gordon says he expects building of the first new homes in Hart Rise, to be underway
before the end of the year.
Hart Rise Project Manager Nigel Nalder says he is pleased with the progress contractors have made, with the development
on target for completion within the planned time-frame. "Our priority has been construction, we've experienced a bit of
a wet construction season, but Chings and other contractors working on the site have really put in the extra hours to
stay on time. This is good news for Richmond, as Hart Rise will significantly improve the situation the region is
currently facing, which is a shortage of residential sections."
