Au pair services expand nationwide
A new partnership between Au Pair Link and PORSE extends the availability of comprehensive childcare services to new areas of New Zealand.
The collaboration between the two home-based early childhood education services means families have access to more options when choosing in-home childcare.
Families within PORSE licenced areas can now take advantage of the ability to place with Au Pair Link’s experienced and fully screened au pairs.
The partnership with PORSE expands the number of licensed regions covered from 14 to 76 to include areas such as Hawkes Bay, Whangarei, Dunedin, Nelson, Blenheim, Invercargill, Gore, Queenstown and the Wairarapa.
Au Pair Link general manager Casey Muraahi says the company received weekly enquiries for au pairs outside licensed regions.
“The partnership with PORSE enables us to better meet these demands and find placements for the hundreds of au pairs looking for host families.
“Families reach out to au pair services for a number of reasons, and we undertake a rigorous process to ensure each family gets the right au pair for them. By sharing our resources with PORSE Kiwi children are better able to receive the 1:1 attention and care they deserve.”
Ms Muraahi says au pairs can help alleviate the stress many people can feel nowadays, especially when juggling work and childcare responsibilities in regional industries.
“We want the best for all Kiwi children, and our expansion into regional areas helps to connect us with more and more families who want to give their children all the attention growing minds need.”
Working with a service such as Au Pair Link streamlines the process of finding the right match for both the au pair and the family, Ms Muraahi says. “Making use of the regional infrastructure created by PORSE, Au Pair Link can screen candidates and help parents across more New Zealand communities.”
There are a number of reasons why a family might look at hiring an au pair according to Ms Muraahi. “In situations where both parents are working or are involved in demanding industries such as agriculture, having a helping hand you can trust to provide quality childcare in the home can make all the difference.
“Au pairs are employed by a host family to care for their children, providing a stable and secure environment for children in their own home. Our au pairs often live with a host family for up to one year, and need to have at least 100 to 200 hours of documented childcare experience to ensure they’re suitable for the role,” Ms Muraahi says.
