Funk Estate contract brewing company buys brewery in Grey Lynn, Auckland
29/12/2015
After operating as a contract brewing company for three and a half years, Funk Estate has purchased the equipment of the former Governor Brewery, located at 3/402 Great North Road. With a focus on spreading the reach of both bottle and keg sales around the country more since the end of 2014, the purchase of a brewery was the logical next step in taking the company to the next level.
The equipment will stay where it is, in fully operational condition, and Funk Estate will move all its operations to the site in Grey Lynn, Auckland. The first brew was put down the day after being handed the keys, which is a huge advantage when compared to the commission, delivery and installation of new equipment.
Now Funk Estate is in charge of their own brewery and production, this allows for improved flexibility and creativity in the beers that are sent out to the public.
