ASG E-GUARD LTD OFFERING DRONE SERVICES IN THE HEART OF AUCKLAND
Finding New Ways to Secure the World’s Most Important Organizations
Working within the new framework of drone rules, ASG E-Guard is now offering a range of services to businesses in the greater Auckland area and beyond. Using state of the art equipment, the company is able to quickly produce the imagery products that modern businesses need to make fast, accurate decisions on asset maintenance and repair.
“We aim to complete the work as quickly as possible, in a safe manner, and with minimal impact on the customer’s business”, says Andy Grant the company’s UAV Manager.
The new drone rules due for release on 1 August will create both restrictions and opportunities. However, they will have sufficient flexibility to provide businesses with the benefits that come with these capable and sophisticated machines, while maintaining the regulation and safety that the public demand. While flights are generally restricted to remaining within the line of sight of the operator, this can still equate to distances over 1km, and provides sufficient scope for even the largest sites to be covered in a few short flights.
“Flying them is relatively easy” says Grant, who characterises the drones as “Easy to fly but hard to operate.” Pointing to the large amount of effort it takes behind the scenes to conduct all of the maintenance, planning, and coordination to get the right product delivered to the customer in a timely fashion. “The machine that flies is just the tip of the spear” he says, “The real work is really done before the flight, to get the tasked planned to achieve the best possible results, and afterwards to get the imagery information assembled in a way that the customer can make the best use of it”.
The imagery information comes in many forms: from aerial photography, to close-up imagery for asset inspections, to IR imagery to track heat-loss, and 3D models that are dimensionally correct to a few centimetres. All of these require different approaches and techniques to get the right outcome. ASG E-Guard has assembled an experienced team that is now capable of delivering all of these services from their operating base in Penrose, Auckland.
